Yes you have to military, DOD, or employee to camp/rent cabins.
I'm pretty sure its first come first serve. Its better to call then book online.
Military ID is required but open on the weekends for everyone. Unless they changed it.
I've always heard you can book a year out! The website will let you know. Also, we were able to get the condos on Father's Day weekend, just 10 days before arriving. Your best bet would be to call ever so often to see if their were cancellations! Good luck!
You have to be military.
Need a sponsor for sure
Any active, retiree, veteran of any of the military services can stay. They get booked up fast.
12 months in advance 2 cabin per ID.
Your sponsor has to be at the reservation to check you in because if your planning to get in and out of the place that sponsor has to get you a pass. You can't just drive in to bellows if you are just sponsored guest. Everytime you come back in they check your passes. But your sponsor don't have to be there on checkout time. And also they have curfew. Have to be in at 10pm for guest and if you passed 10pm your sponsor has to escort you back Inside. But they are renovating half of the place right now so good luck getting a place at bellows. That is always book. Unless you have someone who sits by the phone and call them every day every hour to check if there's any cancellation. I got a cabin for a week but that's because I have someone sat by the phone every day and every hour to check for any cancellation. And it took two weeks to patiently did that. A beautiful place to be. But year round it's always book.
Beautiful location with friendly staff. If you want to escape from it all, here’s a good start for you. There’s nothing really near you, but you’re a close enough drive to plenty of local restaurants. Easily accessible bathroom and shower facilities.
Wer went camping there with a group. It was a great place to enjoy the beach and sun! The facilities have aged, but they are well maintained.
Hands down the best place to stay on the island for military. If you want to get away and feel like part of the local community, stay on a private beach, this is an amazing place! They have fun activities and everyone is super nice! We prefer it over any hotel in Honolulu
Beautiful beach with white sand, green/blue water and excellent views. There is a gate you have to go through where a military ID is required, so do not be disappointed if you are non-military and turned away. There are food trucks on site and cabins to rent also. Cabins look nice but we did not use them. They do sell out/book very quickly so again, don't try to roll up and reserve one on the spot.
Didn't actually get to stay here this time as we literally stumbled upon the station. What a great view and beach this area has to offer. For active duty, DoD personnel and retired military, this looks to be a fantastic place to stay. The accommodations look to be great and very affordable. Can't wait to book a stay here!
When it comes to the beach; on busy weekends the parking isn't the best. You can rent out pavilions by the beach or one that is secluded behind the road. The pavilions come with their own BBQs. The beach is well kept and the surf is nice enough to go into and enjoy without fear if being thrashed around. Good for a family beach day, provided you have military base access.
Great beach with a sandbar and some waves. Good to get the little ones started on body boarding or surfing. Clean, secure and with amenities such as shopette, bathrooms and showers, must have military ID though!
Nice beach with nice bathrooms and showers. Lots of things to do there, and open to civilians on the weekends. Come early and find a good spot.
If you love Hawaii but hate the crowds, Bellows is the place to go. We rented a cabin just off the beach for a couple of weeks and had an amazing time. The cabins are a bit isolated so it is a bit of a chore to go to restaurants, etc., so we cooked out almost everyday and loved it. The staff were friendly and very responsive to our needs. Will definitely go again.
Bellows is probably my favorite place I've experienced to camp in spots, at least this close to the beach. The spots are almost always clean, (with the odd wrapper or something left behind), and it's a great feeling of security to be past a gate. If you have the ability to be on post, Bellows is a place I'd 110% recommend.
We really like this place as it is far from the tourist zone. Very few people on beach. The living conditions are not like a typical hotel, but more than serviceable with several things in the unit. We always stop at commissary to buy our food and prepare it in there unit. We love staying in the units that are right next to the beach.
The beach is always gorgeous here and the facilities are accomadating and always accessible. They have showers, picnic tables, grills, benches , volleyball courts and cabins to rent and stay in. It u want a beautiful beach for the family definitely stop by here and you won't be disappointed. Just be aware the beach does attract jelly fish at times so just be aware when in the water!
The exclusivity! This being a gated base and all really cuts down on people and traffic. It gives us a real sense of security and relaxation, and allows my family and I to really have fun at the beach without the hassle of dealing with pesky tourists. You can also make use of the cabins for rent right along the beach or the campground as well. There's also a massive paintball arena at the very end if that's your thing!
Wonderful beach spot. Worth the visit. The water is nice. It not too crowded. You only have access with a military ID but great spot to relax and chill with the homies or kids.
